Greetings on this unique, once in a lifetime, day in creation!
On this day, 11 years ago, I became a mother! Reflecting back on this journey is awe inspiring, and I feel grateful for the entirety of the experience. Raising children, like all of life, requires key gifts from the five elements: presence (fire), nourishment (earth), inspiration (metal), listening (water) and benevolence (wood). I practice giving these gifts to my children, myself, and also my patients.
You probably have ways of understanding the world and the movement and cycles of life. There are many. If we distill it down, there is often a rising and falling and also an expanding outwards and a return back to center. The photo here is one way of depicting all of this movement in harmony. When we get stuck in life, the symmetry can get distorted. Energy can get blocked and disrupt the direction of movement.
The good news is that there are many Points of Return back to harmony including but not limited to: Place a hand on your heart (fire), eat a sweet potato (earth), take a deep breath (metal), stay hydrated and bless your water (water), do some gentle stretching (wood). There are many acupuncture points too, of course,
and I love helping folks find their way back to equilibrium in the treatment room. I listen to you, to your pulses, to the seasons we are in; and I carefully craft a treatment to guide you back to center. Do you need some caring support in this season of your life? Schedule here and if you don’t see a time that works feel free to text or email me.
One more thing of note- with this new moon, it is a great time to reflect inwards, forgive yourself and others, and choose to take actions that support the life you want. The late summer holds our mental capacity, so it’s a good time to think about how you are thinking… but don’t over think it. Last night, at my kids overnight camp, they did an activity/obstacle course called, “what if we get it right?” in which they pretended it was the year 3026 and all is well. I love this activity and encourage you to change the channel in your thinking whenever you can to think: “what if I am getting it right?”
When I look at the garden this time of year, I see the fullness of life: flowers, fruits, bugs, seeds, leaves weeds, fragrance, and flavor. And it’s a great time to plant seeds for fall. Each seed that you plant, real or metaphorical, is a prayer offered and as life shows up these prayers are answered in obvious ways and sometimes mysterious ways.
If you are ruminating about something, feeling stuck mentally and or physically or even if you just need to dedicate an hour a week to relax and restore, I would be honored to help you in the treatment room. Schedule here
